Building bridges: overview of an international sustainable tourism education model
This article published in the Journal of Teaching in Travel and Tourism highlights the joint efforts of Colorado State University (Pueblo), Colorado State University (Fort Collins), and the University Autonomous of Baja California Sur (La Paz). The paper presents and explores a sustainable tourism education model that employed Fair-Trade learning principles and experiential learning philosophies. This multi-institution and multi-national initiative utilized the Colorado State University Todos Santos Center as a launching off point to employ an international tourism curriculum that explored issues concerning the environmental, economic, and cultural impacts of global tourism.
